Below you’ll find answers to the questions we get asked the most about applying for a m!ne property.

How long can I rent the property for?

You can rent the property as long as you want providing you do not breach the terms of the tenancy agreement.

Do I need to purchase the house on the fifth year?

You are not required to purchase your home on the fifth year and can continue renting if you wish to do so.

Do all tenants need to be in employment?

At least one tenant needs to be employed and you need to be able to provide proof of employment at the time of signing your tenancy.

Will I be accepted if I have credit issues?

Under the m!ne eligibility criteria you must not have any outstanding credit issues and must be able to pass a credit check.

Can I have a guarantor?

No, we do not accept a guarantor.

What are the eligibility criteria for the Rent to Buy scheme?

You can find our eligibility criteria on each of our developments at [www.noplacelikemine.co.uk], but in a nutshell to reserve a m!ne home you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of signing your tenancy agreement
  • Be a first-time buyer or returning to the market after a relationship breakdown
  • Not currently own another residential property
  • Be able to evidence you are working at the time of the initial letting
  • Have insufficient funds/deposit to purchase a property on the open market
  • Have the ‘Right to Rent’ in the UK
  • Not be in receipt of Housing Benefit or Universal Credit (housing element) payments at the point of signing your tenancy agreement
  • Not have any outstanding credit issues and be able to pass a m!ne credit check

How much does it cost to reserve a plot / what is the deposit?

Not a penny!

How much will the rent be?

This will depend on the development and the house type. Please check our individual developments for rents for each plot.

Do you have any plans for new developments not yet listed on the website?

All of our upcoming developments will be listed on the website and marked as ‘coming soon!’. Please continue to check the website regularly for new developments that are added.

When will my house be built and when I can move in?

m!ne homes are under development at a number of different sites and completion dates will depend on the plot chosen and what stage in the build programme it’s at. Once you have reserved a plot and all checks have been verified we will keep you updated on progress with your plot and work with you to agree a moving in date.

When will my reservation be confirmed?

Once you have made a reservation we will run all necessary checks behind the scenes. This normally takes up to two weeks. We will then confirm that your tenancy has been approved.

Is there a show home that I can visit?

Our homes are currently under development in some areas and while there isn’t a show home right now, we will soon have virtual tours for you to take a look at.

Can I run a business from my property?

You can’t operate any business or trade from your property without first getting our written permission, but some of the operations we definitely won’t allow include:

  • Repairing and maintaining cars
  • Running a printing business or shop
  • Businesses that involve using hydraulic equipment, industrial machines or controlled substances or chemicals.

Can I have a pet in my property?

You’re allowed up to two domestic animals (such as dogs, cats, caged birds or small animals) in your home with our written permission. If in doubt, give us a shout.
